Therapeutic Approach
I believe the most transformative therapy starts with an authentic connection. My goal is to create a space where you can explore your story with curiosity, honesty, and compassion, whether you’re processing trauma, questioning identity, or navigating intimacy in your relationships.
My work centers around Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps you build a deeper understanding of the “parts” within you, often shaped by past experiences and protective patterns. I also use Relational-Cultural Therapy to support authentic self-expression and create space for more meaningful connections with others.
Much of my work is rooted in supporting clients from marginalized communities, especially high-achieving Black adults and others navigating the intersection of race, gender, and sexuality. I bring a direct yet affirming presence to each session, adapting our pace to meet you where you are while still encouraging growth.
Background
Before joining Kennedy Counseling Collective, I served as a therapist for active-duty sailors and their families through the U.S. Navy and held roles in both local and federal government. I’m currently a PhD student and research assistant at Howard University, with a focus on social work and sexuality.
I’m also a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and have taught human sexuality as an adjunct lecturer. My personal self-care practices include yoga, laughter, cooking, and community, things that ground me in both joy and resilience.
