Modalities

Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness — helping clients unpack thought patterns and behaviors, build emotion-regulation and coping skills, and develop body awareness and self-compassion, all in service of clear, achievable goals.

Therapeutic Approach

“I bring a warm, compassionate energy to my work and believe in patient, consistent care that also pushes toward growth. I like to stay practical — grounding our work in your personal goals and the realities of your everyday life — while staying open-minded and a little adventurous along the way. My hope is to help you find real joy and a stronger sense of alignment in your life.”

Background

Before coming to KCC, Lydia worked as a full-spectrum doula supporting clients through pregnancy, postpartum, and abortion care, with a particular interest in surrogacy, adoption, and co-parenting — an interest that grew out of her academic background in public health and policy. She also provided individual counseling, case management, and group therapy (CBT- and mindfulness-based) to students in a special education program at the Maya Angelou Learning Center, and brings a background in healthcare technology and project management that gives her firsthand insight into the stress and burnout of fast-paced careers.

Personal Note

Lydia’s sister is a social worker, and a childhood visit to a volunteer event at her sister’s treatment foster care program first opened her eyes to mental health and community service — an experience that has stayed with her ever since.
