Therapeutic Approach
I believe that everyone deserves the tools and support to navigate life’s challenges, especially when it feels overwhelming. My approach is collaborative, optimistic, and tailored to each client’s needs. Together, we’ll build a relationship grounded in trust, creativity, and authenticity.
I use a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and play-based techniques to help children, teens, and adults connect the dots between their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Whether you’re working through anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, or identity-related challenges, we’ll explore ways to express yourself, manage emotions, and move toward your goals with greater confidence.
I especially enjoy incorporating creativity into the healing process, drawing, painting, journaling, or simply finding new ways to reflect. With younger clients, I use play as a therapeutic tool to help them regulate, express, and understand their emotions in a developmentally appropriate way.
Background
I earned my MSW from Howard University and have a background in education, where I first discovered my passion for helping kids navigate emotions and build stronger self-awareness. I’ve worked extensively with neurodivergent youth, LGBTQ+ clients, and families navigating complex emotional landscapes.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as Kennedy Counseling Collective’s Outreach Coordinator, helping build connections across our community. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me immersed in creative projects like drawing, crocheting, or writing, always seeking inspiration in the little things.
